His head in her lap
Her hand in his hair
“This is how to win a fight.” She said.
“Even when I can’t stand you,
You’ll always be there.
This is how we end our fights.” She said
A shot rings in the distance.
It lands right here.
She rolled him over
and then she spoke;
“Romeo my Romeo.”
“This isn’t over I can’t leg you go.”
“Romeo my Romeo.”
His hand on his hip
He looks in his eyes
“I just love to watch you dance.” He says
“And the look on your face
when you’re surprised.
How the vein on your neck pops out.”
A shot rings in the distance.
It lands right here.
He rolled him over
and then he spoke;
“Romeo my Romeo.”
“This isn’t over I can’t let you go.”
“Romeo my Romeo”
“Romeo my Romeo.”
Red cheek and a nose ring
They’re only 20 years old
“I’m so scared, but that’s OK,” they said
“I know you’ll catch me when I fall.”
“Runaway you a runaway.
I’m a runaway too.”
They rolled them over
and then they spoke
they said; “Romeo my Romeo.”
“This isn’t over I can’t let you go.”
“Romeo my Romeo.”
“Romeo my Romeo.”
They rolled them over
and then they spoke
“Romeo my Romeo.”
“This isn’t over I can’t let you go.”
“Romeo my Romeo.”
“Romeo my Romeo.”
“Romeo my Romeo.”
“Romeo my Romeo.”

Gordon Keepers Portland, Oregon
By now, Portland OR-based singer-songwriter Gordon Keepers is a veteran of the music scene. After a stint in old-time
ensemble Water Tower, Keepers sang, wrote songs, and played guitar in the punk-flecked pop band Levon’s Helmet—a project that earned generous amounts of local praise.
Keepers’ first solo record, Pretty Little City, provides a dryer and more nuanced cultural commentary.
